Access Statement Day Dawn

Introduction

Day Dawn is a semi-detached house located close to Porthmeor beach in St Ives. It is a 5 minute walk down to the beach, or 10 minute walk to the harbour or town.
Whilst we try to ensure all our guests have a good time, due to the nature of the house it can be difficult for people with limited mobility and sadly is not suitable for wheelchair users.
The house is situated on a no-through road.

Pre-arrival
Day Dawn is easily accessible by car.
The nearest beach is Porthmeor. It is about 400 metres away.
All the other beaches of St Ives are within 15 mins walk.
St Ives Harbour is 10 mins walk.
Bus and train stations are a 15 minutes walk away.
The house is strictly non-smoking.
Well behaved dogs are welcome.
There are mains smoke detectors.
The owners can be contacted by phone or email and Christine is on standby to assist 5 minutes away.

Arrival and car parking
Keys will be located in a key safe at the house - through the side gate on the wall on the left.
Arrival time is strictly 4.00 onwards.
There are 3/4 parking spaces in the parking space in front of the house. There is a comprehensive information folder at the house and lots of leaflets for local attractions.

Ground Floor
The front drive is quite steeply sloped. The front door is down a relatively narrow corridor which is part paved and part gravel. There is a small step into the house and a wide hallway with hooks and bench with baskets underneath for shoes. The whole of the ground floor is wooden floorboards. Directly in front of you is door to the utility room. It has a sink, washing machine and dryer. There is also a door to the boiler and water heater.
The door to the right is the family bathroom with bath, shower, wc and basin. It is tiled so can get slippy.
To the left of the hall is Bedroom 1. It has King size bed, 2 bedside tables, 2 lamps, wardrobe and chest of drawers, tv. It has french doors to a terrace overlooking the front drive and sea views. It has an ensuite shower room - tiled with WC, basin and large shower.
Next to this bedroom is Bedroom 2 - It has King size bed, 2 bedside tables, 2 lamps, wardrobe with drawers and shelves, dressing table, tv. It has french doors to a terrace overlooking the front drive and sea views. It has an ensuite shower room - tiled with WC, basin and large shower.
To the right of the hall is Bedroom 3 - it has Superking size bed, 2 bedside tables, 2 lamps, wardrobe, chest of drawers, tv. It has french doors to a lower terrace in the back garden. It has an ensuite shower room - tiled with WC, basin and large shower.
Next to this is Bedroom 4 - it has 2 single beds that can be joined to form supering, 2 bedside tables, 2 lamps, wardrobe, chest of drawers, tv. It overlooks the side and back garden.
Next to this is Bedroom 5 - it has bunk beds and 1 single beds, 2 bedside tables, 2 lamps, wardrobe with shelves, hanging rail, tv. It overlooks the side of the house.

First floor
From the hall there are 7 carpeted steps up to a landing then 6 more to the first floor. The first floor is wooden floorboards with a sloped ceiling and velux windows. The kitchen has concertina doors onto the balcony overlooking the garden at the back. 5 stairs lead down the garden.
The kitchen has 2 electric ovens, 2 fridges, 1 wine fridge, 5 burner induction hob, dishwasher, microwave and 1.5 sink.
Sliding doors lead to a TV room with large tv, X-Box, and large u shaped sofa.
Sliding doors lead to living room with large window and juliette balcony with amazing views of the sea. There is an electric stove.

Outside
Through the side gate the paving slabs in gravel continues. There is an outside shower and storage for the surf boards. The path continues round the back of the house to a seating area in front of Bedroom 3. There are 8 tiled steps up to the main garden. The majority of garden is paved - there is large dining table, sofas and fire pit.
The rest of the garden is lawn with apple trees. The back of the garden is hedge. From the terrace there are 5 metal steps up to a balcony leading to the kitchen.

Departure
Check out is strictly by 10am.
Keys are to be left inside the house or in the key safe.
You are asked to leave the house reasonably clean and tidy.
