Porthmeor Beach
Famous for its surf and spectacular sunsets, Porthmeor Beach welcomes dogs outside seasonal daytime restrictions (No dogs 15 May-30 Sept 10-6). Early mornings and evenings here are especially magical, with golden light over the sea and plenty of space for long walks.
Porthminster Beach
With soft golden sand and calm turquoise water, Porthminster is one of the prettiest beaches in Cornwall. Dogs are welcome at certain times of year (No dogs 15 May-30 Sept 10-6), and the nearby coastal paths make it a lovely area for walking.
Carbis Bay Beach
Just a short drive or scenic train ride from St Ives, Carbis Bay offers a more sheltered beach with beautiful clear water. It is ideal for gentler walks and quieter moments away from the busy harbour. (No dogs 15 May-30 Sept 10-6)

Bamaluz Beach and Lambeth Walk
Tucked between the harbour and Porthgwidden, Bamaluz is one of the most dog-friendly beaches in St Ives and allows dogs all year round. It is a favourite with local dog walkers.
Porthkidney Beach
In Lelant, this lovely beach is dog friendly all year round and is less well known than some of the others. Turn up to St Uny church in Lelant and follow the footpath. It’s a huge doggy paradise.
Gwithian Beach
This beautiful 3 mile sandy beach is around the bay from St Ives and most of it is dog friendly all year. There is a section which is restricted July and August so keep an eye out. Great for surfing.

It is one of the most beautiful walks in Cornwall, although sturdy shoes and plenty of water are recommended. Fin
Clodgy Point
A favourite local route just beyond Porthmeor Beach, Clodgy Point gives stunning views back across St Ives harbour and out towards Godrevy Lighthouse.

Wide sandy beaches, dunes and open space make this area especially popular with dog walkers. On quieter days, dogs can enjoy long runs across the sand while owners take in the spectacular coastal scenery.
Walk to Carbis Bay Beach
Follow the South West Coast Path from outside Porthminster Beach Cafe. This a 25 minute walk to beautiful Carbis Bay Beach. Have a cocktail at the glamorous Carbis Bay Hotel and get the train back to St Ives.
